SCORE

An acronym for “Service Corps of Retired Executives, SCORE’s mission is to provide assistance and support to the small business community to enhance their probability of long term success. As part of the national, non-profit service organization, the Raleigh SCORE chapter is one of nearly 400 chapters nationwide. SCORE’s tag line is “SCORE-For the Life of Your Business.”

The Raleigh SCORE team has 50 experienced volunteer counselors that provide free, confidential, face-to-face and e-counseling to more than 1,500 Triangle entrepreneurs each year. Counseling is aimed at both start-ups and existing businesses. Clients may use SCORE services as many times as necessary, without a charge or obligation of any kind. SCORE counselors have experience in a variety of fields including but not limited to: manufacturing, accounting, banking, financial management, retailing, franchising, information technology, export/import, new product development, sales, marketing, advertising and public relations.

SCORE counselors can provide all types of entrepreneurial assistance in topics such as: business legal structure, licensing, loans, franchising, cash flow analysis, marketing techniques and developing business plans.

In addition to counseling services, Raleigh SCORE has partnered with local chambers of commerce, Wake Tech and the Wake County Library to provide free or low-cost workshops on business-related topics. SCORE speakers are available to other organizations around the Triangle.

SCORE’s main office is in downtown Raleigh with satellite offices in Morrisville, North Raleigh, Cary and Wake Forest. Counseling sessions are available in the morning and afternoon to meet client needs.
